Elections Manitoba 2016 General Election Campaign

Communicate detailed information regarding the election date and voting process in a clear and accessible way, and inspire Manitobans to vote.

Recent research indicated a growing awareness regarding democracy and the importance of voting. The “You Count” message is clear, personal, and and inspirational, tapping into the voter’s desire to be a part of something, and highlighting the importance of each person’s voice. Campaign materials were straightforward and simple, featuring diverse voter images, a clear hierarchy of information, and a bright, open layout.

Voter turnout in 2016 increased 3.1% over 2011 voter turnout numbers. Declined ballots were the highest ever recorded by almost 4x. Voters were both informed and inspired to vote, even if they didn’t feel compelled to vote for any of the candidates available.
